Vinyl Flooring |
|
First
some word definition...
Vinyl - A plastic formed from
ethylene. Used to make a wide variety of building materials including pipes,
flooring and siding.
Vinyl Flooring - A relatively
inexpensive flooring product made from polyvinyl chloride and sold in large
sheets or small tiles.
Given the above definitions it is
understandable that vinyl flooring comes in many shades of many colours and many
forms. You can select a vinyl floor to look like slate or stone, marble or
granite. You might wish it to look like wood in which case you will judge it on
light wood , medium wood or dark wood tones. If it is a textured finish you
require, then you can select a glass or metal looking finish. It appears that
there are no bounds in which to limit vinyl flooring, it is possibly for that
reason alone it is so popular.
Wood,
tile, plain, metal and abstract design effects are available in a wide
range of colours/finishes, many varying in quality to cater for all
budgets and most coming in 2, 3 and 4 metre widths. Some ranges also now
available with microban anti-bacterial and R10 slip resistant surfaces.
Karndean
and Amtico have become very popular in recent times, made up from a
layer of compressed vinyl with a design layer on top and available in
individual wood plank or tile forms. The originality and customisation
qualities are what make these products distinguishable from other vinyl`s.
Borders can be inset and feature strips can be utilized to create grout
effect between tiles as well as being able to lay in square or diamond
pattern. Available in 1 domestic range and 4 contract ranges.
For
commercial applications we supply and fit contract grade sheet
and solid tile vinyl`s and non-slip safety flooring for use in a
wide range of locations including wet rooms, all of which comply with
health and safety specifications and are fully welded and sealed.

Carpet |
|
Firstly we must understand what is
meant by Carpet?
The definition is that a carpet is
any loom-woven, felted textile or grass floor covering. The term was also used
for table and wall coverings, as carpets were not commonly used on the floor in
European interiors until the 18th century. The hand-knotted pile carpet probably
originated in Mongolia or Turkestan between the 4th and 2nd millennium BC.
Carpet-making was introduced to Spain in 10th century by the Moors. or a
less historic definition might be that carpet is known today as the general
designation for the textiles used as floor coverings. Carpet backing: Fabrics or
yarns forming the back of the carpet as opposed to the carpet pile or face. In
tufted carpets, there are two backings: a primary backing into which the pile
yarn is inserted. Secondary backing is a fabric that is laminated to the back of
the carpet for reinforcement and dimensional stability.
We
do carpet ranges to cater for every budget from remnants to wilton/axminster and
everything in between, all, from the leading manufacturers. Our remnants are
available at half the recommended retail price offering excellent value for
money.
Twist
pile carpets are by far the most popular at the moment, consisting of many fibre
mixtures including 100% man-made, 20% wool, 50% wool, the most common 80% wool
and 100% wool all ranging in weight, quality and therefore price.
Other
Styles available are chunky pile and berber twists, velvets, deep pile Saxony`s,
cut and loop textured, patterned, natural loops, sisal/grass and as mentioned
axminster and wilton woven.
Most
ranges come in 4 meter widths, which is now expanding with most incorporating 5
meter widths to avoid the need for joins in larger rooms. Certain high end
companies will now also cater in multi-width 1, 2, 3, 4 and 5 meter`s, to enable
cutting down on wastage in smaller and narrow rooms.
Commercial
ranges also available.

Sub Flooring |
| A finished
floor is only as good as what is under it. Every installation of the different
type's of flooring will require some degree of attention and may be correction
to the subfloor. The Sub floor is that rudimentary level of flooring base upon
which all other flooring is laid. Any correction required maybe nothing more
than being swept with a broom or may require complete replacement. It is crucial
to properly assess the condition of the surface over which you are to install
new flooring.
We provide a full sub-floor preparation
service, including latex screed smoothing compound, for concrete floors
and plywood in varying thicknesses, for all timber and chipboard floors.

Carpet Tiles |
|
Carpet tiles can offer a number of
advantages over traditional carpet. Enhancing your own design capabilities
which and make designing your own floor scheme easy.
Carpet Tiles are simple to fit (typically
50 cm square), they are hardwaring, and easy to clean. The fact that they
are also movable to compensate for wear and easily transportable (typically
12 packed in a box) the advantages of using carpet tiles instead of carpet
become apparent.
Once you have made the decision to install
carpet tiles, the next decision is your personal choice - choosing by
colour, design and texture. Always bear in mind when making these
decisions take into account suitability of the carpet tiles for your
living environment. i.e. pets, house/flat, children etc.... and the room(s)
in which you are going to lay them
Available in all qualities,
designs and colours, for both domestic and contract use. |
